Artistic Statement
In my artistic journey, I employ vivid colors in complementary juxtapositions, using oil paint as my chosen medium. Influenced by the boldness of the German Expressionists and inspired by the surrealism of Giorgio de Chirico, my work unfolds in a surrealist context. A chromatically contrasted palette forms the foundation of my current visual language. Inspiration comes from many sources — nature, visual art, verbal narrative. My work succeeds when viewers read it through their own experience, letting my interpretation of the surrounding environment trigger their own stories. I began painting at forty, in a municipal workshop, and have since developed through self-study into a visual language that invites individual interpretation.
